01 What it does

What the gif-sticker-maker Skill Does in Claude Code and Codex

Summary, workflow and outputs, all read from the skill's SKILL.md.

In the Skill's Own Terms

A four-sticker pipeline that turns a user photo — a person, pet, object or logo — into four animated GIF stickers in Funko Pop / Pop Mart blind box style, rendered to look like C4D / Octane 3D figurines on a white studio background with black-outlined captions at the bottom. The four defaults are happy waving (hi), laughing hard (laugh), crying tears (cry) and heart gesture (love).

Captions can be user-supplied, 1–3 words, or pulled from a multilingual captions table matched to the user's detected language. It runs three scripted stages — MiniMax image generation, image-to-video animation, and mp4-to-GIF conversion — and finishes with a deliver_assets block.

What it produces

  • Four animated GIF stickers in Funko Pop / Pop Mart style, the declared output format and count.
  • Four static 1:1 sticker images written to the output folder, one per default action.
  • Four intermediate MP4 clips, one per sticker, produced from the static images.
  • A final deliver_assets block listing the four GIF paths, placed last in the response.
See the example prompt ↗

How It Works

  1. 01
    Settle the Captions

The agent asks in the user's own language whether captions should be custom or default.

  2. 02
    Generate Four Static Stickers

The photo is classified as person, animal, object or logo, then four 1:1 images are generated from the image prompt template with {action} and {caption} filled in.

  3. 03
    Animate Each Image into Video

Each PNG goes through the video script in image-to-video mode using the video prompt template, producing one MP4 per sticker.

  4. 04
    Convert Videos to GIF

A single call to the conversion script takes all four MP4s and writes a GIF next to each one.

  5. 05
    Deliver in a Fixed Order

The reply is a one-line status, then the deliver_assets block listing the four GIFs, with nothing written after it.

02 Find your fit

When to Use the gif-sticker-maker Skill

Use the gif-sticker-maker skill in Claude Code or Codex when the job is motion and video of this kind. Fit and limits below are taken from the skill's own file.

Good Fit

  • A user hands over a photo of a person and wants the resulting figurine to keep that person's actual facial likeness.
  • Someone wants cartoon stickers, GIF expressions, emoji packs or an animated avatar made from a photo.
  • Converting a photo into a Funko Pop / Pop Mart blind box style animation.
  • Photos of pets, objects or logos are in scope alongside people, with the subject described in words.

Know the Boundaries

  • Facial likeness transfer does not apply to animals, objects or logos — those rely on text description instead.
  • Mixing languages across the four captions is explicitly forbidden.

What to Provide

  • A working environmentMINIMAX_API_KEY exported (for example via export MINIMAX_API_KEY='your-key'), plus the venv dependencies and ffmpeg.

03 Inside the skill

Rules the gif-sticker-maker Skill Gives Claude Code and Codex

8 concrete instructions, defaults and limits the SKILL.md sets for the agent — the part of the file that changes the result.

  1. Set up All Three Prerequisites First

A Python venv with requirements.txt installed, an exported MINIMAX_API_KEY, and ffmpeg on PATH must all exist before any generation.

  2. One Language per Run

Captions must be pulled from the captions.md table matching the user's language column, and languages are never mixed across the four stickers.

  3. Write Image Prompts in English Only

Regardless of the user's language, image prompts stay in English; only the caption text itself is localized.

  4. Subject Reference Is for People Only

The --subject-ref flag preserves facial likeness but the API only supports type=character, so for animals, objects and logos it must be omitted and the subject described in text.

  5. Run the Four Calls Concurrently

Both the image generation step and the image-to-video step treat their four calls as independent and run them in parallel.

  6. Keep Custom Captions to 1–3 Words

When the user supplies their own captions they should be short, and the animated action is matched automatically to the caption's meaning.

  7. Deliver_assets Closes the Reply

The deliver_assets block must be the last thing in the response, with no text following it.

  8. Localize per Detected Language

The agent detects the user's language and all outputs follow it.

Starter prompt
Here is a photo of [my dog]. Make four animated GIF stickers from it in the Funko Pop / Pop Mart blind box style, with the white background and the captions at the bottom. Use the default captions for [language]. Keep the four standard actions: happy waving, laughing hard, crying tears, and heart gesture.

Check the First Result

Before accepting the output, look for these in the transcript and the files:

  • Detect user's language, all outputs follow it
  • Captions MUST come from captions.md matching user's language column — never mix languages
  • All image prompts must be in English regardless of user language (only caption text is localized)
  • must be LAST in response, no text after
