Choose an AI connection
Use OpenDesign Cloud, connect your own model account, or keep working through a local CLI. These are shared app settings, not separate setup requirements for each creation type.
Find Models & providers
Open Settings in the Home sidebar, then Models & providers. The installed app places the OpenDesign Cloud card on the Local CLI tab. API providers is the tab for your own model credentials.
Pick the route that matches what you have
| Route | What you need | Who handles model usage |
|---|---|---|
| OpenDesign Cloud | An OpenDesign account and available model allowance | OpenDesign Cloud |
| BYOK | A provider API key, matching endpoint, and available model ID | Your chosen model provider |
| Local CLI | A supported command-line agent installed and authenticated on this machine | The CLI's configured account or provider |
Use OpenDesign Cloud
Open Local CLI → OpenDesign, sign in, and choose an available model under MODEL. Upgrade opens plan information; Manage opens account management. Confirm both the signed-in account and its usable model allowance before starting a task. Cloud screenshots in this guide were captured in a test account. The displayed card locates the controls; it is not a promise of a particular balance or plan entitlement.
Keep model access separate from media and MCP
A chat model key does not automatically configure image, voice, or video services. Media providers covers those credentials. OpenDesign MCP lets an external agent work with the app; it is not a replacement for model authentication.
Continue setup
Use BYOK for provider and gateway examples, or Local agents to install, authenticate, and rescan a CLI.
