Privacy and data controls
Separate usage metrics, shared conversation content, and requests to cloud services before changing data-sharing settings.
Understand the three scopes
Open Settings → Privacy. These controls govern information shared with the OpenDesign team. Cloud-model and third-party requests still follow the selected service’s policies. Turning analytics sharing off does not make a cloud task run offline.
| Scope | Purpose | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous metrics | Basic run counts, token usage, errors, and duration | The metrics switch in Privacy. |
| Conversation and tool content | Prompts, responses, tool inputs/outputs, and context for quality review; the UI describes stripping secrets and sensitive information | The separate content switch in Privacy. |
| Model and external-tool requests | Completing generation, retrieval, or media tasks | Model, media, and app connections and their service policies. |
Change sharing preferences
- Inspect Anonymous metrics and Conversation and tool content separately. First use may show a consent choice first.
- Set each option for the scope you intend; one switch does not establish the other’s state.
- Reopen the section to confirm. For confidential work, also inspect the selected model, media provider, connected apps, and attachments.
Read the OpenDesign Privacy Policy for policy details; it is separate from the current switch state.
Anonymous ID and Delete my data
The anonymous ID links reports from this installation. The current Delete my data description says it rotates the ID and stops sending; existing traces age out under the retention policy. It does not delete local projects, close your account, or instantly erase all third-party service records.
Read the description in your version before using it. This guide has not executed the action on your behalf. Use the contact route in the privacy policy for account or cloud-data requests and specify the scope.
Review diagnostic exports before sending
Settings → About → Export diagnostics packages recent logs and machine information as a ZIP. Record the issue time and reproduction steps, export the bundle, inspect it, then share it with support. Keep credentials, diagnostic bundles, invoices, and private projects out of public share links.
See Client settings for version and diagnostic controls.
