HelpSubscriptions, credits, and billing

Subscriptions, credits, and billing

Find your plan and usage, understand the payment period, and distinguish Cloud allowance from external provider charges.

Open plans and account management

In the app's OpenDesign Cloud card, Upgrade opens plan options and Manage opens account management. The account menu may also provide billing access. Sign in with the account used for the purchase and confirm the selected workspace.

Find Upgrade and Manage on the Cloud card, then choose a plan and billing period.

To use plan-supported models in Claude Code, Codex, or another external tool, follow OpenDesign Cloud API setup on the web. The OpenDesign desktop app is not required.

Choose a subscription

Check Individual versus Team and Monthly versus Yearly before selecting a plan. Compare the models and allowance you need, then review the actual charge and renewal period at checkout. An annual plan's monthly equivalent is not necessarily a monthly charge. Prices and promotional credits can change. Use the current pricing page and checkout as the source of truth; screenshot prices are examples captured at a particular time.

Subscription and top-up serve different purposes

A subscription grants the benefits and recurring allowance described by the plan. A top-up adds pay-as-you-go balance under the account's available rules. Neither automatically pays a separate BYOK provider, local agent subscription, or external media service.

For individual requests, choose the workspace in the Cloud console, then open Usage. Review the caller, time, model, input/output/cached tokens and credits charged; filter by member, model or time range. Personal and Team balances are separate. If your personal balance appears missing after switching to a team, check the Personal workspace before paying again.

Check usage before adding money

A zero wallet figure does not always mean every allowance is exhausted. Review the model-specific subscription allowance, purchased balance, expiry, and workspace context. An apparent remaining balance may not apply to the selected model or service.

Go’s Design Plan has both 5-hour and 7-day windows; Plus, Pro and Max have only the 7-day Design Plan window. For new subscriptions, that week starts at subscription time, not on Monday. Separate plan-model credits follow the billing cycle and have neither window. Check your account for its current reset time.

Design Plan models use the shared Design Plan allowance first. On Plus, Pro and Max, further use can draw from remaining plan-model credits; Go has no separate plan-model credits. The app and OpenDesign API share allowances and windows, so switching agents does not create a new allowance. Consult the current credit rules for amounts, multipliers and promotions.

What can Free use?

Free does not include a recurring grant of OpenDesign model credits. It supports local CLI agents and BYOK. BYOK is available on every plan: you supply an Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or other provider key, and that provider manages the costs and allowance. It does not spend your OpenDesign balance. Go adds Design Plan model access, but does not include hosted image generation.

First-month offers, renewal, and annual billing

A first-month offer applies to a new monthly subscription once per account. After that month, renewal uses the price shown on the plan card and at checkout. Yearly plans charge the full year upfront and renew annually; the displayed monthly equivalent is not a monthly payment. First-month offers do not stack with yearly pricing. Always check the current pricing page and final checkout amount.

How much model credit does each plan include?

The table compares the model-credit allowances of individual plans. See the model-credit rules for details. All amounts are in USD. Subscription prices are regular monthly prices, excluding first-month and yearly discounts. Credit amounts describe model usage, not withdrawable cash or a guaranteed number of requests.

PlanRegular monthly pricePlan model creditsDesign Plan monthly maximumCombined monthly maximum
Go$10$0$120$120
Plus$20$20$160$180
Pro$100$120$360$480
Max$200$300$600$900

When do the limits reset?

Only Design Plan credits have usage windows. Go has a $30 maximum per 7-day window and a $10 maximum per 5-hour window. Plus, Pro, and Max have 7-day maximums of $40, $90, and $150 respectively, with no 5-hour window. These are limits within the shared allowance, not extra credits added on top.

For a new subscription, the 7-day window begins when the subscription starts. If you subscribe on Wednesday at 10:00, it resets the following Wednesday at 10:00—not on Monday or the first of the month. Check the console for your actual reset time. Separate plan model credits have neither window: they are granted and reset by billing cycle.

On Go, reaching either window limit means waiting for that window to reset. On Plus, Pro, and Max, Design Plan model usage first spends the shared Design Plan credits, then automatically draws from remaining plan model credits. Models outside the Design Plan group spend plan model credits directly. If those are also exhausted, requests stop unless an available, authorized auto-recharge can add paid balance. Drawing from existing plan credits does not itself charge your payment method.

Why do different models use credits at different rates?

A Design Plan multiplier converts the dollar value of model usage into Design Plan credits consumed. A lower multiplier uses fewer credits for the same usage value. It applies to Design Plan credits, not a universal discount on plan model credits or a BYOK provider invoice.

For example, $1 of model usage consumes $0.50 of Design Plan credits at 0.5×, $1 at 1×, $2 at 2×, or $4 at 4×. This does not mean every request costs $1; actual usage depends on the model and token consumption. The pricing page’s estimated request counts are estimates, not fixed request entitlements.

Do unused credits roll over? What if they run out?

Subscription model credits reset each billing cycle; unused credits do not roll over. Do not treat the monthly maximum as a permanent wallet deposit. On Go, check both usage windows before deciding that a payment is needed. On Plus, Pro, and Max, check whether plan model credits remain after the Design Plan allowance is used.

When the applicable credits run out, you can wait for the relevant reset, upgrade, enable authorized auto top-up where available, or switch to BYOK and pay your own provider. Auto top-up makes a real payment within the monthly cap you set; it is separate from an automatic deduction from credits you already have.

Do the app and external agents share credits?

Yes. An OpenDesign API Key can connect agents such as Codex, Claude Code, DSH, OpenCode, and Hermes to your plan-supported OpenDesign models. The API supports OpenAI Chat Completions, OpenAI Responses, and Anthropic Messages. Other tools need compatible custom endpoint and key support; compatibility must be tested. Follow Cloud API setup and manage keys on the API keys page.

The app and API use the same credits and usage windows. Changing tools, agents, or API keys does not grant another allowance or reset a limit. Design Plan models use Design Plan credits first, then remaining plan model credits; other plan models use plan model credits directly. An OpenDesign API Key spends OpenDesign credits. A BYOK provider key spends that provider’s allowance instead.

Add credits or manage auto top-up

Open Cloud billing and use the top-up option actually available to your account. Before enabling auto top-up, review its trigger, charge amount, limits, and payment method. Do not assume it is enabled or included in every plan.

Auto-recharge makes a real charge to the payment method you authorized when the balance runs low. The total in a calendar month stays within your configured cap; change or disable it in Wallet. It is not a free credit grant, and canceling a subscription does not automatically disable it.

Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel

The current self-service flow supports upgrades to a higher tier or from monthly to yearly. Upgrades take effect immediately, grant the new benefits, and charge the prorated difference after crediting unused time on the current plan. Review the change preview for the exact charge. Downgrades to a lower tier or from yearly to monthly are not available in self-service; contact support. Canceling stops renewal while keeping benefits through the paid period, after which the account returns to Free. Annual cancellation does not automatically refund the purchase. Read the refund policy for separate eligibility and conditions.

A payment has not appeared in the app

Confirm the purchase account and workspace, refresh usage or sign in again, and allow the payment status to update. Keep the receipt and transaction reference for support. Never include card numbers, passwords, or API keys in a support screenshot.

Alipay and payment methods

Subscriptions support Alipay; the checkout page shows which payment methods are available for your order. To change payment details, open Cloud settings, confirm the workspace, and use its payment management option. Contact support if the option is missing.

Request a refund after canceling renewal

Canceling renewal keeps benefits until the end of the paid period and then returns the account to Free. It does not itself create a refund. For an immediate upgrade, unused time is credited toward the prorated difference shown in the change preview. Contact support for a downgrade or yearly-to-monthly change.

Email [email protected] with your account email, reason and purchase region. The refund policy allows requests within 14 days in the EU, UK and Turkey, 7 days in South Korea, or 48 hours elsewhere. Eligibility and the amount depend on order and usage review. After approval, the refund is initiated to the original payment method within 10 business days; arrival depends on the payment provider. Keep account and order details out of public channels.

After your first refund request is approved, we cannot process a second refund request. See the refund policy for the applicable terms.

Why is image generation unavailable after subscribing?

Go includes Design Plan models but not hosted image-model calls; hosted image generation starts with Plus. Code-rendered graphics and images found online do not demonstrate access to an image model. Check the plan and model entitlement, or configure your own media provider. Use the current pricing page for model availability.
