01 What It Does

Ground Interface Decisions in the Product

A product-first UI workflow that selects one task-specific guide, optionally uses UIZZE references and checks the rendered interface.

Source-based workflowNot an execution benchmark

The Working Approach

Anti UI Slop is a compact workflow for building, polishing or reviewing an interface without replacing the product's identity with a generic AI aesthetic. It asks the agent to inspect the brief, existing screens, components and design tokens first. Those constraints outrank the Skill's own examples, making it particularly relevant to work inside an established application.

The source routes each request to one playbook: new work, product operation, polish, simplification, audit or native iOS. It does not ask the agent to combine every checklist. Optional UIZZE reference tools can answer a specific unresolved visual question, but the free Skill and public catalogue do not require an account. The final gate is observable interface behavior, such as clipping, overlap and controls that do nothing.

Expected Deliverables

  • A product-grounded interface revision or focused critique
  • Design decisions tied to existing tokens, components and user tasks
  • A concise handoff identifying observable issues and resolved changes

From Brief to Review

  1. 01
    Read the Product Context

Inspect the requested screen and the surrounding design system. Identify what users are trying to accomplish before changing layout or styling.

  2. 02
    Choose One Work Mode

Select the playbook matching the request. A polish pass should not silently become a redesign, and an audit should remain a critique unless implementation is requested.

  3. 03
    Check the Rendered Result

Where the environment permits, inspect the actual interface once and repair visible breakage, inaccessible controls and inert interactions.

02 When to Use It

When to Use It

An agent able to read project files; rendering support for visual checks. Paid UIZZE MCP is optional.

A Good Fit

  • Existing Product ScreensUseful when an agent must extend a dashboard or workflow without inventing a competing design system.
  • Focused RefinementFits a request to simplify or polish a specific screen while preserving its established functionality.

Limits to Check

  • References Are OptionalThe paid UIZZE MCP is a separate connection. Installing this Skill does not establish access to hosted reference tools.
  • No Automatic Design VerdictThe source describes a working method, not a guarantee that every generated interface is distinctive or accessible.
  • License Notices DifferSKILL.md declares MIT, while the skill-directory LICENSE contains Apache-2.0 terms. Ask the maintainer to clarify the applicable terms before reuse.

Bring These Inputs

  • A Concrete ScreenProvide a file path, screenshot or short description of the interface being built or reviewed.
  • Existing Design LanguageInclude component conventions, tokens and examples of accepted product UI.
  • Scope of ChangeChoose a new build, redesign, polish, simplification or audit so the agent does not expand the task.

03 Decisions That Matter

Decisions That Matter

  1. Product Before Novelty

Familiar conventions are retained when they help the workflow. Difference is earned through product-specific hierarchy, not decoration.

  2. One Playbook at a Time

The explicit routing reduces conflicting instructions and keeps a small refinement from accumulating unrelated redesign requirements.

04 Try a Focused Brief

The example brief below has not been tested. Check the skill’s setup before using it.

Review the Setup

Use the complete Skill folder so the selected playbook is available. No dependency or executable is required by the free workflow.

Start With One Deliverable

Adapt the scope, source material and constraints in this brief before running the skill.

Example Brief
Use anti-ui-slop to polish our invoice list screen. Read the existing table, filter and button components first. Preserve the information architecture and payment workflow. Use the polish playbook only, identify the most important hierarchy problem, implement a restrained correction, and inspect clipping, keyboard controls and empty-state behavior. Do not connect a paid reference service.

Inspect the Result

Check the actual output against these observable criteria.

  • Existing component and token conventions remain recognizable.
  • The chosen playbook matches the requested scope.
  • The rendered screen has no observed clipping, overlap or inert controls in the reviewed path.

06 Questions Before You Start

Questions Before You Start

Do I need a UIZZE subscription?

Not for the free Skill and public catalogue. The source describes paid MCP references as optional and requires an actual connection result before claiming access.

Does it prescribe one visual style?

No. The product brief and existing design language take priority over examples in the Skill.

Can I use it only for an audit?

Yes. An explicit audit has its own playbook; a review request need not authorize changes to the interface.
