01 What It Does

Create Foil and Two-State Collectible Cards

Create a holographic or two-state card using illustration, Blender layers, GLB export and an interactive viewer.

Source-based workflowNot an execution benchmark

The Working Approach

Holo Card Studio has two distinct production routes. The default holographic route separates one artwork into subject, background, linework, and text planes with foil effects. The lenticular route uses two complete card artworks that replace the whole illustrated face as the viewing angle changes; it is not a left-right split of one image.

The source's default art direction combines full-color ukiyo-e composition with colored sumi-e anime linework. For two states, it generates A and edits that image into B while preserving identity, framing, scale, and silhouette. The pipeline then builds a Blender scene, renders previews, exports a GLB, and provides a white web viewer for pointer or touch tilt.

Expected Deliverables

  • Source card artwork and the selected route's layered assets.
  • A card.blend scene, preview renders, and a card.glb export.
  • A web viewer and route-specific validation report.

From Brief to Review

  1. 01
    Choose the Route

Use holographic for one illustrated state or lenticular for a complete A/B transformation.

  2. 02
    Create Coherent Artwork

Generate the required raster assets; for A/B, edit from the first state while locking identity and composition.

  3. 03
    Run the Card Pipeline

Prepare the project configuration and assets, then build the scene, previews, GLB, and viewer.

  4. 04
    Inspect Angles and Interaction

Check depth, effects, readable faces, whole-image state changes, and pointer/touch behavior.

02 When to Use It

When to Use It

Requires image generation, Python, Blender, and a web runtime for the delivered viewer. The source mentions local dependency installation during the pipeline.

A Good Fit

  • Collectible Character CardsUseful when a single illustration needs layered foil and sparkle presentation.
  • Dual-State Character ConceptsThe lenticular route addresses two recognizable versions of the same character.

Limits to Check

  • Not a Physical Manufacturing FileThe described deliverables are digital artwork, a 3D scene, renders, and a viewer, not a print-production guarantee.
  • Image Generation Is Required for Final ArtThe source rejects procedural or SVG stand-ins when finished illustration is requested.
  • Effects Must Not Hide IdentityFoil and glow are presentation layers, not substitutes for readable artwork.

Bring These Inputs

  • Character Brief or ReferenceProvide identity, expression, costume anchors, and any reference imagery.
  • Card RouteChoose one-state foil or two-state lenticular behavior.
  • State InvariantsFor A/B, identify geometry, crop, scale, and features that must stay aligned.

03 Decisions That Matter

Decisions That Matter

  1. Route Changes the Asset Model

Selecting the route first avoids preparing four separated planes for a task that actually needs two full-face images.

  2. Edit A Into B

Using the first artwork as the basis for the second supports continuity better than independently generating unrelated states.

  3. Deliver Source and Viewer

The source includes the editable scene and interactive presentation, not only a flattering still render.

Start With One Deliverable

Adapt the scope, source material and constraints in this brief before running the skill.

Example Brief
Use holo-card-studio for a two-state collectible card of the character in my reference. Choose the lenticular route, preserve the same face, silhouette, crop, and costume anchors between calm and intense states, and create complete A/B images. Deliver the Blender source, angled renders, GLB viewer, and alignment checks without implying print readiness.

Inspect the Result

Check the actual output against these observable criteria.

  • A and B remain recognizably the same character and replace the whole face.
  • Front and angled views reveal the intended effect without washing out facial detail.
  • The viewer loads the GLB and supports touch or pointer tilt without overflow.

06 Questions Before You Start

Questions Before You Start

What is the difference between the two routes?

Holographic uses separated layers around one artwork; lenticular uses two full artworks whose visibility changes with viewing angle.

Can it fake the second state with a split image?

The source explicitly rejects splitting one picture into left and right halves for the two-state route.

Does the pipeline produce a web preview?

Yes. The described pipeline copies a matching viewer and installs its local web dependencies unless that step is skipped.
